South Dance Collective – Studio Policies

Welcome to South Dance Collective! We’re excited to have you as part of our dance family. To ensure a smooth and enriching experience for all, please review the following studio policies.

1. Registration

  • Registration is open year-round through our online portal.

  • A non-refundable registration fee is due prior to your dancer’s first class (unless otherwise noted).

  • If a class is full, students will be placed on a waitlist. The registration fee secures the waitlist spot and will be refunded only if the student is not enrolled.

2. Class Enrollment

  • A minimum of four students is required for a class to run.

  • South Dance Collective reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any class not meeting enrollment requirements. We will always try to offer alternative options when available.

3. Tuition & Fees

  • Monthly tuition is due on the first Monday of each month.

  • A $25 late fee will apply to any payment not received on time.

  • Returned checks or declined credit card charges will incur a $35 fee.

  • Tuition is non-refundable, except in the event of:

  • Serious illness or injury (with a doctor’s note), or

    1. Permanent relocation outside the area.

4. Attendance & Make-Up Classes

  • Tuition is based on enrollment, not attendance. Missed classes will not be refunded.

  • Students may make up missed classes within the same week, based on availability in a comparable class.

5. Recital Participation

  • Participation in our annual recital is optional but encouraged!

  • A costume fee will be assessed in January for participating dancers. Details will be shared well in advance of the event.

6. Faculty Communication

  • To respect class time, parents/guardians should direct questions or concerns to faculty via email or phone message outside of class hours and should not enter the studio while class is in session.

7. Weather & Emergency Closures

  • All cancellations due to weather or emergencies will be posted on our Facebook/Instagram pages and website.

  • Phone calls will not be made—please check those platforms for timely updates.

  • If classes need to be canceled due to weather or emergency, makeup classes will be scheduled after the regular season has ended.

8. Class Viewing & Media

  • There are viewing windows in two of the studio rooms.

9. Dress Code & Studio Etiquette

  • Proper dancewear and secured hair are required for all classes. Midriff is not to be exposed. Please check class description for more specific apparel requirements.

  • Gum, food, and drinks (except water) are not allowed in the studios.

  • Personal items may be stored in designated areas at your own risk. South Dance Collective is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.

10. Staying Informed

  • Please stay up to date by checking our studio bulletin board, website, and social media regularly.

11. Code of Conduct

  • South Dance Collective reserves the right to dismiss or deny enrollment to anyone who:

  • Fails to follow studio policies

    1. Jeopardizes the safety or well-being of others

    2. Disrupts the positive and respectful environment we uphold

12. Health & Wellness

  • Dancers should stay home if experiencing symptoms such as fever (100.4°F or higher), cough, sore throat, or shortness of breath—or if exposed to a contagious illness.

  • South Dance Collective reserves the right to send home any student who appears unwell for the safety of the community.

By enrolling at South Dance Collective, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by the policies outlined above.
